Art Takes Miami is a competition to present artists' work in Miami, USA, at the premier showcase for international contemporary art, SCOPE. Hosting art fairs in Miami, Basel, New York and London, SCOPE has become one of the most influential presences in the expanding global art market. The top selected artist will be awarded the Grand Prize: an exhibition in an exclusive feature at SCOPE Miami 2012 alongside the top players in the international art world, a cash prize, a production allowance for the SCOPE Miami exhibition, publicity for the exhibition at SCOPE Art Show, and an online feature promoting the work internationally.

The institution that initiated the competition, Artists Wanted, connects artists, photographers, designers and creative talent of all types with an excited international audience. and is a collaborative project between several New York City artists and creative organizations working to build new lasting opportunities for emerging talent. The movement has experienced first hand the difficulties in breaking into the professional art world and it is their mission to make this process more welcoming, dynamic and open-ended. Artists Wanted considers this to be an incredible era for art, photography and design. New paradigms are being explored, boundaries are broken and work is selling at record rates. However, they believe many of the best new artists remain undiscovered and their job is to get work seen in the most powerful way possible. Collectively the movement has over four decades experience within the New York City art world and the goal is to use our networks and infrastructure to bring undiscovered talent to the forefront.
